What does the farm equipment business and computers have in common? These days, quite a lot. As Williamston-based
D&G Equipment grew, so did the company's IT needs. Fortunately for the owner, she has a connection in the industry.
"My mom is Jolene Gustafson," says Shaun Blain owner of the new
D&G Computers in Williamston, which services both D&G Equipment as well as the general public with IT services and computer retail sales. "A couple years back we bounced around the idea of opening a computer store. Then the IT needs of mom's eight dealerships started outweighing the service they had."
D&G Computers first opened about six weeks ago and recently celebrated its grand opening. The store offers computer repair, spyware removal, standard upgrades, laptop and equipment sales and more.
While Blain currently operates D&G Computers on his own, he anticipates hiring a staff of three in the near future to help with his already bustling business. D&G Computers is located inside D&G Equipment in Williamston. Eventually, Blain hopes to expand the business to include shop in the Howell branch of D&G Equipment.
