Salons in and around Meridian Township now have a more convenient source for beauty supplies.
The Industry Source, a wholesale seller of salon products has opened in a 1,500-square foot Okemos location on Grand River.
“It was originally in South Lansing and had been in that location for ten years,” says Debra Herr-Dempsey, director of stores for The Industry Source. “When the opportunity to open in Okemos happened, we decided that demographically, for our type of business, it was a better location. There are also many salons in that general area.”
The more highly visible location is expected to grow the Michigan-based supplier’s presence in the Lansing area. The company operates 19 The Industry Source stores in Michigan, one in Ohio and seven in Texas.
“We are in the business to grow,” Herr-Dempsey says. “We have a pretty good idea that we will be able to reach out to more salons and take this opportunity to grow our sales and attract a wider audience.”
The Industry Source currently employs two workers in Okemos and carries both premium salon products, as well as the company’s own brand of products.
