REO Town Arts Benefit

Tonight, October 20, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Accelerate Lansing will be hosting a silent auction of art related to the Deluxe Inn project at the REO Art Alley in REO Town. The goal of the benefit is to raise funds for REACH Studio Art Center and the REO Town Commercial Association, assisting in the commission of public art in the REO Town area.

Bump In the Night Beat Battle

On October 21, Scene Metrospace is hosting “Bump in the Night,” a competition for hip hop producers, with a cash prize of $200. The event starts at 6:30 p.m., is a costume party and a family-friendly event. Special guests include MCs P.H.I.L.T.H.Y, Sareem Poems, Othello and special guest producer Hir-o from Detroit.

Thrill The World

On October 23, be a part of Thrill The World Mid-Michigan, an international effort to break the world record for the “largest simultaneous dance.” Join other Lansing residents and visitors at 5260 S. Cedar St. to do Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance with many others. The record breaking attempt will start at 7 p.m. sharp, so be there an hour early so you are included in the count!

DJ Olympics All Star Showcase: Fundraiser & Costume Party

Get aboard the Michigan Princess Riverboat at 8 p.m. this Sunday, October 24, for a costume party and some fabulous music for T.J. Duckett’s “Cuts for the Cure” initiative. The event will showcase many of the area’s best DJs in live duo sets. These DJs have competed in the Capital City DJ Olympics TRIALS and the top nine will be announced during the fundraiser. The Michigan Princess will also take off for a midnight cruise, and there will be a costume contest!
