Lansing Give Camp has chalked up its first success in the city, despite Mother Nature's curveball.
Give Camp, according to the web site, "is a weekend-long event where software developers, designers, and database administrators donate their time to create custom software for non-profit organizations."
In Lansing, undaunted by storms that knocked out power on Saturday afternoon, the intrepid developers moved from the
Impression 5 Science Center to the
Lansing Center, and then again to coffee shops and homes. But they still got their jobs done, providing 48 hours of donated labor to the area's non-profit community.

The
online tweets also captured the event's feel-good vibe. Check out this hashtag:
"13 deserving charities + 50 hardworking developers + 17 generous sponsors + 2 power failures = one successful event." @ljlynch.
