Join the Michigan Environmental Council and Capital Gains on October 25th as we pair great local drinks with a lively discussion about the intersection of environmental ethics and great city design--with a focus on the future of downtown Lansing.
“Downtown Pioneers: The New Environmentalists”—the first event in our #ForwardDrinking Discussion Series—will take place at the MBC pub in downtown Lansing. Brad Garmon, MEC’s Director of Conservation and Emerging Issues, will explain how rediscovering downtown life has become the heart of a new environmental movement. We will also have an informal panel discussion with local leaders about strategies and projects that are making downtown living, working, shopping and playing more sustainable and appealing here in Lansing. And there will be plenty of time for your questions and ideas.
Panelists include:
• Rory Neuner: Transportation for Michigan Project Coordinator
• Amanda Harrell-Seyburn: Independent Designer + Urbanist
• Rick Kibbey: Lansing Parks Board President
The event is free and open to the public. We’ll even provide free appetizers! Please continue to check in with this event page on Facebook and follow updates on Twitter with #ForwardDrinking.
