Editor's Pick: Summer Solstice Jazz

Whether you’re a lover of all things Jazz or just a festival enthusiast, you don't want to miss the three-day, multi-venue Summer Solstice Jazz Festival in downtown East Lansing. The festival has been known to draw more than 10,000 people in the 16 years it’s been running, all lured in for the same thing: a family friendly atmosphere with great music that's free to the community.

This year’s headliners include Somi—a charismatic, New York-based singer/songwriter who has been hailed as “Superb” in Vogue Magazine. Somi is performing free on Saturday, June 19. International Jazz legend, Joe Lovano will also be performing inside the Wharton Center for Performing Arts for an admission of $20.

Beyond the music, you can enjoy the inevitable festival vibe that permeates downtown East Lansing from June 18–20. Make a point to get out there this weekend, because Monday is going to be one long day!
