Red Cedar Technology doubles revenue, staff in 2011

It’s been a good year for East Lansing’s Red Cedar Technology. The design optimization software and services firm doubled their revenue and customer base, as well as increased their staff from seven employees to 17 in 2011. According to Vice President of Business Development Angelo Flemings, the phenomenal growth is all about partnerships.

“Red Cedar is at a new level now as a business,” says Flemings. “We understand the importance of having companies help market and sell our product, and also embed our technology in their software.”

In addition to several partnerships with companies made over the last year, Red Cedar has recently announced new partnerships with New Hudson, Michigan-based Pratt & Miller Engineering, as well as California-based MSC Software Corp. Flemings expects to announce even more partnerships in the coming weeks.

Increasing visibility has been another priority for Red Cedar Technologies, and one that Flemings believes has been key to the company’s growth.

“The important thing for a company to do is increase their visibility, and that will increase their viability,” he says.

Red Cedar Technology has worked to raise visibility by engaging in social media, working with key business leaders, attending shows and seminars, and more. The company will host Optimize This! 2012, the first International HEEDS Users Conference in October.

Flemings expects staff growth to continue this year, with three new jobs being added immediately and another four scheduled for hire in the second quarter.
