Dunkin Donuts brings 35 jobs and future expansion plans to Lansing

It’s been quite a few years since Dunkin Donuts has called the Lansing area home. As of November, the franchise has returned, bringing with it 35 jobs and the promise of additional area locations down the road.

“They saw an opportunity in the Lansing area,” says Aaron Mezir, Regional Manager with the Highland, Michigan-based company Dala, which owns the new Dunkin Donuts on East Saginaw near Frandor. “The location is in a brand new plaza and the landlord had already built a drive through. We saw that and jumped all over it.”

Dala has purchased the rights to Dunkin Donuts franchises in the Lansing area, as well as Livingston and Washtenaw Counties. Mezir says the company is looking to open additional stores in East Lansing and near the Lansing Mall.

The new 2,000-square foot Dunkin Donuts opened their doors on November 29 and celebrated their grand opening in early December. The location includes sit-down dining in addition to drive through service.

“It’s bringing a lot of excitement to the area,” says Mezir. “We’re a solid American company and people know the brand and know of the quality it provides. It seems like everyone who comes in is happy we’re back in town.”

Mezir says he expects additional Dunkin Donuts to appear in the Lansing area in as soon as six months.
