KI Technology Group selected to receive technical assistance under pilot economic gardening program

East Lansing-based KI Technology Group knows a thing or two about transformation. The company began as a software firm in 1982, but as the world of technology and the needs of their clients evolved, so did they. Over the last decade they have grown into a 12-employee computer support company, essentially acting as off-site IT staff for businesses.

And now they’re positioning themselves to evolve and grow once again. KI Technology Group was recently announced as one of 54 Michigan companies selected to receive business development support through the Pure Michigan Business Connect Economic Gardening Pilot Program being offered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

“We are very pleased,” says KI Technology Group president Linda Lynch. “It always helps to have a fresh pair of eyes. When you’re a part of an organization, you don’t always see where you should head next.”

As a participant in the pilot program, KI Technology Group will receive free technical assistance including help with strategy, market research, social media and geographical information systems to help identify potential customers in other states.

“One of things we’ll be getting help with is defining processes,” says Lynch. “That’ an area where we’re weak. As we grow we want to continue to deliver the quality of services we have delivered in the past.”

The goal of the program is to help second-stage businesses successfully grow to the next level.
