I create websites and software interfaces designed to optimize the users experience. I conduct research, surveys, interviews and usability tests to learn how do make the experience better. In a nutshell, I am a corporate recruiter in addition to whatever else is thrown on my plate!  I work to support and provide talent solutions for Auto-Owners Insurance Company. A large part of my duties involve working with colleges to connect with the student base. I never thought after graduating college that I would be able to have this much interaction with colleges and students, I love being able to make a positive impact on the people I interact with.

During my time at Northwood University, I had the opportunity to present a project to the executives at Auto-Owners, that was when I realized where I wanted to work. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and for the individuals that have helped me along the way.

I feel like a very lucky person, because I honestly can say that I love my job. After I graduated from college, I became a licensed insurance agent and worked at a small agency servicing and selling insurance policies for auto, home, motorcycle, etc. I quickly found that I loved the work!

After 2 years of working with upwards of 40 customers a day and seeing the number of satisfied clients grow month after month, I received an offer to expand my skills and focus on new clients for Lyman and Sheets. Knowing their name as a key player in the industry, I was thrilled at the chance to continue to learn and grow with a talented team of like-minded professionals. I specialize in getting to know a family’s unique needs, and combining an education in policy coverages and limitations with a true commitment to serving the family’s best interests. Nothing feels better than to receive a phone call from a new client who was referred to me by another satisfied customer; it reaffirms that I am doing a good job for the families I feel so close to, and that they are likewise pleased with my service.

I currently live in St. Johns with my fiancée and young stepson, and we are busy planning a September wedding and getting a sweet little boy through his first year of school. Now that we have our own growing family, it helps me understand the needs and concerns of others as well.

As an implementation project manager for Sircon, a Vertafore company, I shepherd projects from the completion of the sales process, into production.  Sircon's software offerings to the insurance industry are all SAAS products and are both highly configurable and highly secured allowing insurance carriers and agencies to more effectively manage their producers and maintain compliance with all 50-states.  I moved to East Lansing 6 years ago from New York City as my wife is from this region and I quickly fell in love with it.  I spent my first 5 years here working as a technical consultant with Artemis Technologies.  I am also involved in local government serving as Vice-Chair on the East Lansing Historic District Commission, Chair of the Community Development Block Grants Advisory Committee, President of Glencairn Neighborhood Association, and am the head of the Lansing Masonic Lodge.

As part of the triage team for production issues at Sircon, I actively monitor our system and incoming transactions for problems that might arise.  When problems are identified I research our software's back end to assess what is causing the issue and how to fix the problem.  I also pull reports from our large pools of data for our sales team and clients.
