Places: The Knight Cap

City:
320 E. Michigan Ave.
517-484-7676
Established in 1969 as a steakhouse, this is a classic and unimposing pillar of Michigan Avenue. It's fine dining with a casual atmosphere. There are no windows making it difficult to spot. Once inside, your host and waiter, Mr. Rick, will lead you to one of the only 12 tables at the Knight Cap and recite for you the afternoon or evening's menu. This, coupled with the dim lighting makes for a very intimate dining experience. Known for their steaks, the beef is cut and trimmed daily on-site and seasoned with their special combination of spices that they've named "Black Magic". Salad dressings are all homemade, including blueberry vinaigrette. Wine list is broad, ranging from 25 dollars to a 200 dollar bottle of Opus one.
