Meet the new “Meet Mt. Pleasant” app

What’s happening: The Mt. Pleasant Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (MPACVB) recently launched their new app for mobile devices, helping visitors to the area better plan their stays, and locals keep track of upcoming events and attractions.

What it is: The “Meet Mt. Pleasant, MI” app allows users the ability to search local attractions and to plan an entire trip – including driving directions to each attraction. Users of the free app have the ability to filter through different categories such Stay, To Do, Dine and Events. Users can then customize their itinerary.

Why it’s important: “I think the Meet Mt. Pleasant App can serve as a great resource for community members by showcasing what the area has to offer,” says Claire Doty, content and communications coordinator for the Mt. Pleasant Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Users can quickly and easily explore different attractions, retailers and restaurants at their fingertips. It’s likely that someone might stumble upon a restaurant they haven’t been to yet and then they can add it to their list of places to try. The app also hosts a community calendar of events so that people can always find things to do around the area.”

Pleasant Tour” includes stops for culinary experiences, shopping of local makers’ merchandise, and recreational activities – all with directions between each stop.

What is yet to come: Moving forward, the MPACVB plans to add more challenges and tours to the app. “Right now we have a coffee challenge, but we want to expand into other challenge categories including food, recreation and more,” continues Doty. “And we’re hoping to eventually offer prizes for those who complete challenges, so that will be very exciting!”

To download the free app on both Apple and Android mobile devices, simply search “Meet Mt. Pleasant, MI” in the app store. It can also be used on a desktop computer by visiting meetmtp.com and clicking the “Plan Your Trip” icon at the bottom right corner.
