Annual Paint the Pavement with Art Reach 
Come paint the pavement with Art Reach on Saturday, June 1. Beginning at approximately 10 a.m., participants will paint the intersections of Broadway & University, Broadway & Franklin, and Broadway & Court streets in beautiful downtown Mt. Pleasant. It is not necessary to register and the event is free to all. Those interested in volunteering for the event can visit artreachcenter.org for more information.

Author Event: A Night with Viola Shipman
On June 3 at 7 p.m., join Sleepy Dog Books and the Pere Marquette District Library in welcoming author Wade Rouse–better known as Viola Shipman–for a reading and discussion of his published works. Buckley’s Mountainside Canoes 50th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting
Join Buckley’s Mountainside Canoes as they celebrate the launch of their 50th season with the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. Guests are invited to enjoy snacks, drinks, and giveaways at Buckley’s on Thursday, June 6 beginning at 4 p.m. while they celebrate this milestone and learn about summer specials and this year’s events. 

Uncorked + Unplugged Bouquet Making Class
Life Unplugged and Well Rooted Flower Co. are partnering for a night of unplugged community, wine, charcuterie boards, shopping, and a special bouquet-making class. Zoo in the Park 2024 
On Friday, June 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. the Isabella County Child Advocacy Center (ICCAC) will offer their annual Zoo in the Park event at Island Park. Zoo in the Park is a free-to-the-public event that aims to bring the community together for an evening of fun. Animals, games, crafts, food, and face painting are just a part of the activities. Goat Milk Soapmaking Workshop at Art Reach 
Instructor Samantha Falsetta of C+S Farm will demonstrate how to create silky smooth cold process soap using fresh goat milk from her farm. Participants will be provided with all of the ingredients, supplies, and instructions to create a handmade batch of soap to take home. Emphasis will be placed on the safe handling of materials, as cold-process soap utilizes lye for the saponification process. The class is open to adults only, and students should come with long sleeves, pants, & closed-toe shoes. To register, visit artreachcenter.org.

10th Annual Mt. Pleasant Craft Beer Festival 
Downtown Mt. Pleasant is sure to be “hopping” during the 10th Annual Mt. Pleasant Craft Beer Festival! Since 2014, the Mt. Pleasant Jaycees have raised more than $245,000 to benefit the local community with this annual festival that brings together locals and visitors alike to enjoy craft beer, food, and live music–including this year’s headlining band, local favorite Jedi Mind Trip. This year’s festival is being held on Saturday, June 8 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is open to adults 21 years of age and older (valid driver’s license or state issued ID required). KNCO Eclectic 7 Course Wine Pairing Dinner at Camille’s Prime
Delight your taste buds with a seven course wine pairing dinner at Camille’s Prime on Tuesday, June 11 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. KNCO is a catering service offered for occasions ranging from small dinners to wine paired menu tastings like this one. Find tickets here

13th Annual Art Walk Central 2024
Art Reach of Mid Michigan will again host Art Walk Central, an art competition featuring artists of all ages from across the state. Art Reach is calling all artists to participate! In this month-long event, over $6,000 in prize money will be awarded to artists in youth, teen and adult categories. The public is invited to vote for their favorite art pieces, and jurors will select the winners. In addition to the art competition, events and activities will take place throughout the month of August. This year’s Art Walk Central will take place from August 1 to 24, 2024, however artists need to register before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024. Friends of the Veterans Memorial Library Book Sale 
On June 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Veterans Memorial Library will host a book sale in the library’s Annex Room. WIth books for all ages and spanning various interests, there is sure to be something for every seeker. All proceeds benefit Veterans Memorial Library.

17th Annual Grandparents U at CMU 
Grandparents and grandchildren (ages 8 to 12) are invited to explore the beautiful campus of Central Michigan University and experience life as a CMU Chippewa in the residential halls during Grandparents U. Participants will enjoy hands-on educational sessions conducted by faculty, staff, and community members, and can even customize their experience with several class choices based on their interests. This event runs from June 18 to 20.

Summer Salsa and Cha Cha Dancing
Join dance instructor Amy Perschbacher for a spicy night of salsa and cha-cha dancing. Learn the basic steps and techniques for these dances that originated in Cuba and brought together the cultures of Spain, Africa, and the Caribbean islands. Whether partnered or solo, all are invited to attend. The workshop will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 21 in the Morey Family Gallery at 111 E Broadway, in Mount Pleasant. CMURC Business Hub Bash Grand Opening
All are invited to the ultimate celebration of entrepreneurship, innovation, and community spirit - The Business Hub Bash! Watch the ribbon cutting ceremony, witness the grand reveal of their brand new CoWork RC Hub, and enjoy local refreshments and good company at the Taste of Mt Pleasant Networking Mixer. Soaring Eagle Casino Outdoor Concert Series
The outdoor concert series at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort is always a hit for locals and out-of-town visitors alike. Enjoy a show from the pavilion or up on the grassy hill of the property during June’s performances. Shinedown performs June 7 (tickets here) and Motley Crue performs June 23 (tickets here).

Music in the Park 2024 
Back for another summer, Music in the Park will take place Thursday nights throughout June and July at Mt. Pleasant’s Island Park Arts Pavilion. The free summer concert series encourages attendees to bring their own chairs to enjoy a variety of musical talent from folk to blues and Americana.

Monthly Mt. Pleasant Arts & Crafts Market 
Support local artisans and small businesses at the monthly Mt. Pleasant Market. This month’s market will be held Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Church. Each month the market supports a different organization or non-profit organization in Isabella County. June’s proceeds will benefit the Isabella County Commission on Aging. Fridays at the Race Track 
Enjoy high-energy races at the Mt. Pleasant Speedway every Friday night from 7 to 11 p.m. throughout the summer! Each “full show” includes modifieds, pro stocks, street stocks, rear-wheel-drive cylinders, and mini wedges. From die-hard racing fans to those brand new to the sport, these Friday night events can be a great way to spend time with friends and family at Mt. Pleasant Speedway.

Farmers’ Market in Island Park
In addition to the usual weekly market each Thursday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., community members are encouraged to visit the Mt. Pleasant Farmers’ Market on Thursday, June 20 for their Health is Wealth Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The expo will feature booths from area providers with information on the topics of fitness, nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being. The Saturday market opens on June 22 and will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October 12.

Entertainment at the Broadway Theatre 
Several entertaining events are taking place this June in Mt. Pleasant at the Broadway Theatre. Some shows sell out quickly, therefore the theater recommends purchasing tickets online prior to the event. Here’s what’s happening in June at the Broadway:

June 23 at 2 p.m. | Special VHS Matinee The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night
June 29 at 8 p.m. | Standup Comedy returns to the Broadway with Caleb Synan (Comedy Central Presents, Last Comic Standing, 'What's It Called' Podcast).
