Longtime engineering firm eyes growth with merger

Holland Engineering Inc. (HEI), a national engineering, survey, and environmental firm, and OMM Engineering Inc. (OMM), a regional civil and municipal engineering firm, have announced the intent to merge. The merger will become final at the start of the new year.

The merger brings together two engineering specialists with more than 90 years of combined industry experience. They plan to continue serving existing clients and expand their service capabilities.
Holland Engineering Inc.'s headquarters is at 220 Hoover Blvd. in Holland.
“The merger with OMM will enable HEI to broaden and increase its service offerings with municipal clients,” says Gerald Ford, president of HEI. “Together, HEI and OMM will continue to meet our client’s diverse requirements through a combined strategy.”

OMM, founded in 1982, is an engineering service provider to regional municipalities. Chuck Olson, co-founder and a principal of OMM, adds: “I am excited to witness the growth this merger will provide our businesses. Not only will we be able to better serve our existing clients, but increase service offerings for potential clients.”

Olson and David Kuipers will integrate with the current HEI municipal team and will lead a newly formed OMM municipal focus area.  They will be based out of the HEI corporate headquarters, 220 Hoover Blvd. in Holland.

Founded in 1977, HEI’s workforce is 125 to 150 employees during the peak construction season. OMM has three employees, and all will join the HEI staff. HEI has a variety of open positions posted on its website.
