August things to do: Big theater productions, the uniting power of music, and a Polish festival

National Night Out returns this month, as do Art in the Park, summer camp with Ottawa County Parks, and a gallery opening at the Muskegon Museum of History and Science.

The Coast Guard Festival, the Outta the Park comedy lineup, and the Big Red Sport Fishing Tournament finish up early in the month, summer concert series continue, and kicking off are exhibits on “The Cost of Life” and the history of Zeeland.

There’s a lot of fun, crafty things to do, a bike park opens, and the Muskegon Museum of Art is celebrating the birthday of Julia Child. August offers a wide variety of things to do in Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. This list includes options for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or interest.

The Playhouse at White Lake Instagram“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” opened in Whitehall on July 25, but you can still catch performances of this family-friendly musical on Aug. 1-3.
