Following a few months of mostly indoor events (thanks, winter), May marks an explosion of big outdoor events across West Michigan. Tulip Time returns with Dutch dancing, parades, exhibits, tours, and so much more. Residents and visitors alike can spend a day or two at the beach during Grand Haven’s annual Kite Festival.
Prom with a Purpose brings together people of various backgrounds for an evening of dancing and fun. Holland Public Schools is the first school to host a traveling exhibit from the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. And Memorial Day offers an opportunity to show appreciation for those who gave their all in the U.S. military.
There are also fundraisers, movies, music, theater, crafts, art exhibitions, lectures, a Cinco de Mayo dinner, a Kentucky Derby celebration. May offers many things to do in Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. This list includes options for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or interest.
