Appia Communications expands to Alaska

Apparently it's not wintery enough in northern Michigan for Appia Communications; they've announced a new service expansion to Anchorage, Alaska.

Appia, in Traverse City, is a leading provider of managed communications and network services, specializing in IP-based communications. They'll be providing business-class voice-over-IP service, video communications, and a hosted call center to Anchorage, among other things.

"We are excited about helping Alaska's companies and organizations lower their costs," says Victor von Schlegell, president of Appia Communications. "Customers can expect reliable service, backed by 24-7 support."

Appia will provide their services, including local telephone numbers, network services, and video and audio conferencing to retail and wholesale customers in Anchorage, and are looking for more partners and clients there.

"We are also seeking partners in Anchorage to sell Appia's services," says Jason Ulm, vice president of channel sales for Appia. "Our growth is closely tied to the success of the hundreds of our partners. We are looking forward to bringing that success to partners in Alaska."

Appia is headquartered in Traverse City, but also has operations in Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis/Fort Wayne, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and St. Louis.
