Dylan's Candy Bar store open at Grand Traverse Resort

The famous Dylan's Candy Bar store already tempts northern Michigan locals and visitors from its home at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme, but the resort says it's taking the temptation even further with the addition of an expansion.

The candy store is welcoming a sibling, Dylan's Candy Bar Candy Café, which is something of a ice cream shop and soda fountain mixed with a candy cocktail bar, patterned after the flagship Dylan's Candy Café in New York City.

"Dylan's Candy Bar Candy Café takes the traditional ice cream shop to scrumptious new levels with custom flavored ice cream, over the top sundaes, milkshakes, malts, dessert-themed candies, fresh fudge, cotton candy, specialty chocolates and mouth-watering celebration packages," says Grand Traverse Resort public relations manager J. Michael D'Agostino.

The café joins the original store in the resort's 20,000-square-foot Gallery of Shops; the Dylan's Candy Bar store just opened last November.

One of the main draws for guests and visitors surely will be the array of ice cream which includes all the classic flavors you would expect, but also goes beyond that into flavors like candy bar blast, cookies and cream cheesecake, blue mint chip, red velvet, circus, demolition cookie derby, birthday party, mint-tastic, cheesecake fantasy and perfectly peanut butter.

It's never too early or late for ice cream, so the Candy Café is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. It also can host parties and events.
