Otsego Memorial Hospital plans expansion

The Indian River location of Otsego Memorial Hospital Medical Group is expanding.

The expansion, to come in the fall of 2015, is due to increasing demand for the practice's services in Indian River. It will see OMH Medical Group-Indian River moving to a new and bigger building, on South Straits Highway.

It will continue to offer primary care and walk-in services, as well as lab, radiology, rotating specialties and occupational medicine. In the new space, there also will be room for a separate walk-in clinic, distinct from the primary care and specialist physicians, and the addition of on-site digital mammography services.

"We continue to experience high patient volumes in Indian River, and although we have been very happy with our current location, the practice volume has exceeded what the site can accommodate. As an example, we anticipated seeing approximately 425 patients per month, and in 2014 this number was closer to 900 patients per month," says Tom Lemon, Otsego Memorial Hospital CEO.
