As this news story is being written, it's notably cold, wet and a bit dreary outside. One thing that would brighten the day that comes to mind is a nice cup of soup.
Come May 15, there will be a distinct destination to make that day-brightening moment a reality when the Soup Cup, a "microsouperie" located in the old Railroad Depot at 8th and Woodmere, opens its doors.
The eatery will be open from Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. It's Grand Opening celebration will be May 19 from noon until 2 p.m. and will offer up free soup tastings, grilled cheese bites and Belgium-style fries with dipping sauces.
"We're excited to craft real, authentic soup for Traverse City--and since it's all from scratch we know exactly what's in each bowl," says owner and chef Scott Nitsche.
