Black Star Farms offers three venues for sipping, tasting and shopping

Foodies are raving about one of the newest addition to Black Star Farms, the fabulous B&B, tasting room, creamery and equestrian facility along m-22 just outside Suttons Bay.

We're talking about Hearth & Vine Vineyard Café Market & Bakery, whose wood-fired pizzas are as good as California's Chez Panisse, according to one intrepid fan who is intimately familiar with both.

It's all fresh and local this time of year from the hoop-house and Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) gardens. There's wine by the glass or bottle from this award-winning winery, too.

While you're there, check out the rough-hewn Black Star tasting room, sip some pear eau de vie, browse through the gift items, and watch Leelanau Cheese Co.'s Anne and John Hoyt behind the big glass windows stirring up their prize-winning, mouthwatering Raclette cheese – magnifique!

Black Star also operates tasting rooms with edibles at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons and on Old Mission Peninsula.
