Altus Brands in Traverse City has been making a good run at growing in the outdoor products market, with brands like Cass Creek, Benchmaster, CrossFire Slings, and Woodland Whisper.
They are adding another product line with a recent acquisition, this time in the deer scent market.
Altus's executive VP, Charlie Ricci, says the company has bought
Harmon Deer Scents, a small company located in Ellijay, Georgia, from its founder and owner, Bill Harmon.
"Harmon Deer Scents is a perfect fit for our Cass Creek line of all our electronic calls, decoys, scents, scent elimination and hunting accessories. Bill Harmon has been successful developing and selling his impressive line of scents, lures and attractants for 28 years. We are proud to be able to continue to market and grow this man's hard work into the future," says Ricci of the purchase.
Harmon says in a statement that he chose to sell to Altus, over other offers to buy his company, because of their willingness to invest in his brand and help it continue to grow.
Harmon Deer Scents will be relocated to Altus Brands' Traverse City warehouse and headquarters.
Among the other brands Altus owns are Pro-Ears, Rifleman Hearing Protection, Bughats and American Bison Leather Products.
