Entrepreneurship isn’t always a young person’s game, but an afternoon coming up in Traverse City hopes to put young people on the path to being future entrepreneurs, with the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour.
It’s hosted by
Northwest Michigan Works! at the
Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, and starts at 3 p.m. on Oct. 11. The tour is geared toward high school and college students, and presents some of the country’s top young entrepreneurs in their 20s, who talk about their successes and encourage other young people to start their own businesses.
"It's extremely important in these times of economic uncertainty to provide experiences for youth that give them hope for their futures," says Lisa Anderson, Northwest Michigan Works! Youth Program Coordinator. "This will be an awesome opportunity for our local youth to explore the world of entrepreneurship."
The conference is four hours long and designed to be interactive, with a keynote speaker, workshops, networking and a panel of local entrepreneurs. There is no cost to attend the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour, but registration is required and limited. School groups are welcome, and can register
online along with individuals.
