House of Doggs celebrates five years in business

It's almost hard to believe that the House of Doggs is celebrating its fifth birthday this year. Seems like just yesterday that we had our first bite of their delicious wares and it still feels like the first time each time we visit.

But, make no mistake, the House of Doggs has a few years experience under its belt. If you haven't been there, then you need to stop by. You can check them out Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2:30 a.m.

And what will you find there?

"Seventeen different hot dogs, ranging from the Detroit Coney, Flint Coney, Chicago Dog and Slaw Dog," says owner Nick McAllister. He suggests checking out the restaurant's website for more information.

"It's been very fun," McAllister says of the past five years. "The highlights have been our relationship with our great, loyal customers and our family of employees. Traverse City is the best."

The average cost for a meal at House of Doggs sets each person back just about $4 to $6, and the variety means there is always something for everyone.

The last five years have been good to the House of Doggs. So what about the next five?

"Our plans are to continue to strive to be the best hot dog joint in town," says McAllister.
