As part of the transition at
Mercy Hospital Cadillac to Munson Healthcare ownership, a new president has been named at the Cadillac hospital.
Tonya Smith was chosen after a national search process. She comes to the area from Charles Town, West Virginia and will officially start in her new role Feb. 23.
She has been the VP of corporate ancillary services for the last six years for a six-hospital system in West Virginia, and also has been VP of operations for Winchester Medical Center, a large hospital in Winchester, Virginia. Her background is in pharmacy services and she holds a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland, as well as master's degrees in health care administration and business administration.
Smith will oversee the transition to Munson Healthcare and focus on leading the hospital forward.
