If attending an in-person marketing expo to promote your business seems like too much time, effort and expense, Oneupweb is trying something new with a digital marketing expo for northwest Michigan companies.
It's aimed at business-to-business companies who are strained on time and budget by exhibiting at traditional marketing expos, or, perhaps as a budget-friendly addition to physical expos. Oneupweb CEo and founder Lisa Wehr says the digital meet, called Be Relentless 2011, is free, all-online, and will attract purchase decision makers of companies ranging from mid-level to above.
"It's all about getting the appropriate audience in front of fitting vendors. I've done the tradeshow circuit on Oneupweb's behalf; it's always a gamble, draining and pricey--so I sat down with my marketing and PR teams and we decided it was time to change all that," she says.
Wehr set out to research how to put together a virtual event of this type, and found there really weren't many cost-effective choices for business-to-business companies, like Oneupweb, which is a digital marketing agency based in Traverse City. So instead of giving up, she decided to go a step further and host the event.
Be Relentless 2011 is planned on May 4, using Expos 2, which Wehr calls the best virtual event platform out there currently.
The cost of registration is $2,000 for business-to-business exhibitors, which includes a virtual booth and a 30-minute video presentation, live chat with attendees, instant download capabilities, linking to company websites, contact information for attendees who visit the exhibitor's booth, and social media integration including online banners, e-newsletters, emailed promotions, and national media releases.
Wehr hopes the cost will be worthwhile to exhibitors, because of the large exposure possible through the expo.
"We aim to have 5,000 attendees, so that each lead can potentially cost exhibitors less than 50 cents," she says.
Registration closes April 11 and can be done by visiting the expo's website.
