Folks looking to use
Charlevoix County Transit Services are in luck--the agency is currently planning to expand services.
The transit department is currently offering services on Saturday evenings around Boyne City, an expansion that started earlier this winter with a pilot program. It has seen so much success, the transit authority is now looking to expand transportation services to include daytime hours on Saturdays as well.
"We hope to have the new Saturday service in place and ready to roll this spring," says transit manager Jill Drury.
The Saturday services will be much like regular weekday service, but on a smaller scale that includes fewer buses.
In addition, the transit department is also hoping to offer monthly trips from Charlevoix County to Petoskey and to Gaylord. They currently offer a monthly trip to Traverse City. Charlevoix County Transit services are available to all residents of Charlevoix County and guests and visitors to the area are also welcome to utilize the services.
