Gamers in Iron Mountain, Kingsford and the surrounding area don’t have to fret about where they are going to get that new Xbox 360 or PS3 game anymore.
GameStop, a nation-wide company, recently opened a new storefront at W8159 South US 2/141 in Iron Mountain.
"The next closes GameStop is about 70 miles away," says store manager Joseph Hirschenberger. "It is nice to offer customers the convenience of finding the games they want in a much closer location to them."
The new location is only the third GameStop in the Upper Peninsula. The first was located in Marquette, the second opened earlier this year in Sault Ste. Marie.
Gamers have benefits with a GameStop that they didn’t have with typical retail outlets. At GameStop, you can buy used items or even do trade-ins for store credit and cash.
"We sell new and pre-owned games and consoles," says Hirschenberger. "We also take trade-ins on games and systems. We take reservations on new games that are coming out. We also have a really great rewards program."
In addition, the store will have midnight release events for gamers who just can’t wait. Titles scheduled for that rare Monday night midnight release include Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
"We have been very busy so far, thanks to the people of Iron Mountain and the surrounding areas," says Hirschenberger.
