Wahlstroms take over ownership of L'Attitude, reopens with new menu

Tom Wahlstrom doesn't beat around the bush when asked why he and his wife, Elizabeth, decided to buy L'Attitude Café in downtown Marquette--located just around the corner from their top-quality Chop House on East Washington Street.

"We liked it," he says. "We love it, actually. The building. The location. The view. Why wouldn't we want it?"

The couple, apparently, loved the name, too, choosing to stick with the L'Attitude moniker when they recently reopened. The menu, however, has seen a bit of a facelift.

While the former menu was nothing to scoff at (in fact, some items did make the transition under the new owners), the Wahlstroms had some different ideas they wanted to try. The end result? Delicious items throughout the menu, including Vietnamese pho, fried conch, Croquet Monsieur and even whitefish tacos.

"It's just something a little different," says Wahlstrom, who has been in the restaurant business his whole life. "It's a lot of fun and we're enjoying it. The transition has been smooth."

Wahlstrom notes that folks shouldn't get too comfortable. While he wouldn't reveal any spoilers, he did say that changes were coming that would improve on the restaurant.
