Newsweek names the U.P.'s Laurium Manor Inn as #1 Historical B&B in America

What's happening: Newsweek has named the Laurium Manor Inn in Laurium on the Keweenaw Peninsula as the  #1 Historical Bed & Breakfast in the United States by Newsweek Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards. The Laurium Manor Inn is part of the Keweenaw National Historical Park as a heritage site.

About the inn: Completed in 1908 by mining magnates Thomas and Cornelia Hoatson, the 45-room mansion features stained glass windows, intricate woodwork, grand fireplaces, and original furnishings that capture the opulence of the early 20th century. Today, innkeepers Julie and Dave Sprenger have cared for the property for more than three decades.
