Who doesn't have a little bit of ink these days? From chefs to hairstylists to writers, lawyers and city councilmen, tattoos are just about everywhere.
But if you're itching to get yourself tattooed--for the first time or the 100th--you should consider stopping over at
Inkwell Tattoo in Marquette.
The shop is owned by Joel Hyde, Shawn Huffman and Cory Croschere, who are all artists as well.
"We offer a clean and sterile environment, decorated with artwork of local artists as well as our own work," says Hyde. "We are a mostly custom shop catering to each customer individually and we offer session prices for larger pieces. We are also the only shop in town that offers separated rooms for privacy."
Currently the Inkwell only offers tattoos, but Hyde says piercings will be offered in the near future.
The shop is one of many in Marquette, but Hyde said the trio couldn't imagine themselves anywhere else.
"We are all from here," Hyde says. "Some of us left for a while but this is home and we wanted to bring some of the things we had seen in other shops in other towns to Marquette, such as the private rooms and so on, and see if Marquette would respond."
The shop is open Monday through Friday from noon until 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until 6 p.m., but Hyde said after-hours appointments are available if needed.
