Absolute Michigan giving away free passes to summer festivals, including Porcupine Mountain

Summer means festivals in Michigan, and the U.P. has some of the best, like the Porcupine Mountain Music Festival or the Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival.

Absolute Michigan is helping festival goers out with free ticket giveaways to 23 Michigan festivals and events this summer, including the ones above and quite a few others in the area, too.

If you're traveling elsewhere in Michigan this summer, they've also got tickets to events like the Traverse City Wine and Art Festival (mmm… wine) or Maker Faire in Detroit. Absolute Michigan is helping promote the events as part of their mission to showcase the diversity and range of Michigan's offerings.

"I think what Absolute Michigan is doing is great," says Don Kermeen of the Porcupine Mountain Music Festival. "The U.P. has been hit as hard as anyone by Michigan's economic troubles, but I think that music is a unifying and healthy thing that allows us to escape from life, relax and refresh so we can face our challenges."

To sign up, add your email to Absolute Michigan's e-mail mailing list, and they'll announce the winners in July.

Some of the other festivals offering free tickets are the Traverse City Microbrew and Music Festival, Paella in the Park, the Dunegrass Music Festival, Thunder Over Michigan, Farm Fest, the Hoxeyville Music Festival, and Midwest Fest 2011.
