It's not everyday you get a chance to get a humorous glance into the life of a fellow Yooper, so when Marquette resident Tom Flaminio penned a tribute to his family and the community of Iron Mountain where he grew up, it was worth taking note.
Flaminio's book,
Spaghetti on Mondays, focuses on the author's life growing up in the Dickinson County community and what it was like in a household of 12--including four sets of twins.
"Dad was a mailman and moonlighted as a janitor to support us," Flaminio writes in his book. "He faithfully delivered the mail every day for 30 years, and neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor the birth of another set of twins could stop him."
The book is available locally at Book World in Iron Mountain and Marquette, at Crispigna's Italian Market in Iron Mountain and Snowbound Books in Marquette. It can also be ordered
online at Amazon.
