Argonics Inc. in Gwinn has been known for more than a decade as a leading plastics manufacturer. What's less well-known is that the company also designs, engineers and produces its own innovative products for the concrete, agricultural and conveyor belt industries.
This month, Argonics has announced the rollout of its new secondary conveyor belt cleaning system, the Eraser DS. The company already makes some conveyor belt cleaners, but this design is meant to be more economical and need less maintenance.
"The Eraser DS secondary belt cleaning system is designed to be an economical version of our heavy duty XTC cleaner, with a .19-inch thick, 2-inch-by-2-inch powder-coated tube stock steel mainframe for strength and durability," says Bob Welker, sales and marketing manager for Argonics.
The Eraser DS is specifically designed for reversing conveyor belt applications, and cleans the conveyor to prevent carryback problems like belt misalignment or material buildup. The high-performance model will not only extend belt life, but lower maintenance costs and potential downtime.
Another bit of good news for customers is that the cleaner has a fast, efficient blade change-out mechanism, so when it's time to replace or clean the polyurethane or tungsten carbide cleaning blades, it's a quick and easy process with a single pin.
The Eraser DS is available now through Argonics, which remains one of the industry's largest producers of polyurethane products. It was founded in 1994 and has production facilities in Gwinn and in Louisville, Colorado.
