Italian Fest will return to Iron Mountain

It looks like Italians in Iron Mountain will have a reason to celebrate this August--and a place to celebrate, to boot.

The Iron Mountain Main Street announced that the Fifth Annual Italian Fest will return to downtown Iron Mountain come Aug. 20. The event encourages residents and their family to celebrate the local Italian heritage with great food, drinks and music.

"The 2011 Italian Fest is the type of event that celebrates the Iron Mountain experience," says Jonathan Ringel of Iron Mountain's Main Street. "Our Italian heritage is an integral part the community's history. I am looking forward to great food, friendship, dancing and grape stomping"

Italian vendors will be setting the scene with mouth watering Italian cuisine. Food vendors for this year will include; Crispigna's Italian Market, The Moose Jackson Café, Paisano Club, The Pasty Oven, and additional vendors still being added.

The beer and wine tent will be stocked with local and Italian alcoholic beverages and will be open throughout the festival.

Musical entertainment will include; the Richie Stanek Band, Rare Gold, Jan & Gino and The Cadillac's.

There are even games like bocce ball and a children's play area with games, inflatables and face painting.

Tickets are $5 at the gate and all proceeds benefit the Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority/Main Street. Children 12 and under and Tour de Dickinson bike ride participants get into Italian Fest for free.
