The
Marinette-Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce is building off of a highly-successful event last year and turning it into a series of events this year.
The Chamber, which services businesses in both Marinette, Wisc., and Menominee, Mich., is kicking off a Women's Business Network series this week starting at noon Thursday at Perkins Bakery and Restaurant.
Speaking at the event will be Shelly Van Vooren of the Bay Area Medical Center. Her topic is "What Happens in the Office Stays in the Office."
"Shelly will address the issue of office confidentiality in her usual dynamic style, putting the emphasis on professional behavior," says Mary Johns, chamber executive director and sponsor of the event. "We're delighted to have her join us again. Last year, we packed the room when Shelly talked about customer service at another chamber event."
The cost of the event, which includes lunch, is $12 for chamber members and $15 for guests. The event includes networking; attendees are reminded to bring business cards for a prize drawing. Reservations are essential for the event and can only be made by calling 715-735-6681.
The event is just the first of many for the Women's Business Network series. More information can be found on the chamber's website.
