Marquette General Health System received an award recently as a good company to work for, from the Michigan Business and Professional Association.
MGH was named one of west Michigan's 101 Best and Brightest companies to work for, an honor they've received for the second year in a row. The award is meant to honor companies that recognized employees as their greatest asset.
Companies were listed from many fields, including health care, automotive, insurance, hospitality, communications and nonprofit organizations.
The categories each company was evaluated on were communication, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, employee education and development, employee engagement and commitment, recognition and retention, recruitment and selection, small business, and work-life balance.
Gary Muller, MGHS president, says the recognition shows the health system's dedication to its employees.
"At Marquette General, we strive to attract and retain the best people in the healthcare industry," says Muller. "This award highlights our continued commitment to recognize our employees as our most valuable asset. Our success as an organization couldn't be achieved without our hardworking and dedicated employees."
The Michigan Business and Professional Association will honor the 101 companies May 5 in Grand Rapids, when 10 more awards by category, as well as the "Best of the Best" overall winner will also be announced.
