Iron Mountain author pens new book

Ida M. Nord, an author in Iron Mountain, announced recently that she has released her latest book, Shards of War.

The novel, which is focused on two Russian families during the Russo-Finnish conflict during World War II, is available at book stores through the Upper Peninsula.

The book was inspired by Nord's family. Her father was born outside of Moscow before he moved to the United States.

The 300-page book is expected to be her final following her previous releases: The Bright Sight of Ugly and Mayfly.

Shards of War is $19 and is available at all of the U.P. Book World locations as well as Canterbury Bookstore and Country Roads in Escanaba, Snowbound Books and the NMU Bookstore in Marquette and Nordic Grocery in Felch Mountain.
