Electronic medical records are the future of the medical and health care fields, and no one is exempt from making the switch over. Still, there's quite a variety of ways to do it, and products to choose from.
Orthopaedic Surgery Associates of Marquette chose a system for its new electronic records changeover from SRSsoft, a New Jersey-headquartered electronic health records company.
Key to the new system's requirements were the ability to increase productivity and be user-friendly to orthopedic needs, says Orthopaedic Surgery Associates' chief operating officer, Dale Moilanen.
"The SRS EHR delivers operational efficiencies, a novel approach to meaningful use, and a single source of customer service to support both the EHR and practice management system," says Moilanen. "SRS clearly recognizes the unique needs of specialty practices and has a great track record in orthopedics."
The practice is going to be using the SRS EHR (electronic health records) system along with a system called SRS CareTracker PM, which integrates the medical records with billing records.
Orthopaedic Surgery Associates is located in the Upper Peninsula Medical Center in Marquette, and has 13 health care providers. The practice has been operating for more than 40 years, founded in 1966 by doctors Eugene and Donald Elzinga.
