Upper Peninsula International Raceway announces motorsports trade show and swap meet

The Delta County Commerce Center and Upper Peninsula International Raceway Volunteers are sponsoring a Motorsports Trade Show and Swap Meet in the Ruth Butler Building at the U.P. State Fairgrounds March 5, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The event will feature vendors that have accessories, parts and machines from all areas of motorsports, which include, but is not limited to, snowmobiles, go-karts, micro-springs, cars, motorcycles, ATV, water sports, off-road trucks, and tuff trucks. Vendors will also feature graphics and apparel, vinyl lettering, safety equipment, and engine builders & repair.

"The beautiful U.P. seasons provide for a vast variety of motorsports. Business owners will have the opportunity to showcase their products, racers can sell or swap their extra parts and other race tracks can advertise their exciting programs," says UPIR volunteer Kathy Rose. "Owners of motorsports affiliated businesses such as graphics, vinyl and apparel are also invited."

Booths are $25 for 10x10 spaces which includes table, chairs and two admissions, or $40 for 10x20 spaces which includes the same. There is a $5 discount if registered by Feb. 15.

Admission to non-vendors is $5 and children 12 and under are admitted free to the swap meet, which will also include concessions, kids' activities, door prizes, hourly 50/50 raffles, auction and racing on a big screen TV.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Upper Peninsula International Raceway Track Development Fund.

"With the goal of an asphalt and clay multi-season motorsports facility at the Upper Peninsula State Fairgrounds in Escanaba, this is a great opportunity to put focus on our fundraising efforts and increase interest in motorsports throughout the U.P.," says Rose. "We believe in working with other motorsports and race tracks so all can surivive."

Those interested in registering can do so by contacting the UP International Raceway via email. Information about lodging is available here.
