The responsibilities of the director include providing leadership and vision to improve financial aid systems, making recommendations on policies and procedures, packaging and review of student aid awards, communicating with students and parents about financial aid, producing external reports on financial aid, managing endowed scholarships, maintaining connections to state and national organizations, overseeing hiring, training and supervision of staff, and managing department operational budgets. It is salaried in a range from $65,274 to $81,592. Benefits include dental, life, medical and optical insurance, paid sick leave and vacation, pension plan and 403(b).
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field
-Minimum of three to five years of financial aid experience in a position of broad scope
-Prior supervisory experience
- High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Experience and knowledge of computer software and systems for financial aid
- Student-centered philosophy
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience with Jenzabar EX and PowerFAIDs preferred
- Knowledge of, and ability to work within, continuous quality improvement systems preferred
