Bay Area Medical Center in the Marinette-Menominee area is hiring an accessioner. The job is part time and shifts are days and evenings. The position is represented by the AFSCME. The responsibilities include entering admission, insurance and requisition data, addressing billing problems, correcting billing rejections, updating insurance information, maintaining Medicare records, printing labels, labeling and distributing laboratory specimens and reports, maintaining supply inventory and ordering laboratory supplies, training new employees and updating existing employees on accessioning procedures, and other duties.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Can type 40 wpm
- Experience in clinical laboratory or related medical field
- Six months of computer experience in medical billing or admissions
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Emphasis on laboratory and pathology preferred
- Ability to work and communicate in tactful and professional manner
