War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste Marie is searching for an internal medicine and infectious disease care physician. The position is full time, with a yearly salary of $220,000 in addition to benefits. The job description includes provision of internal medicine and infectious disease medical services for hospital patients as well as at outpatient clinics, and including consultations and on-call coverage. The internal medicine duties entail diagnosis, non-surgical treatments, and follow-up care for patients with a wide range of internal organ disease and injury, as well as on-call coverage 3 days each month. As an infectious disease specialist, duties include developing strategies for prevention of infectious disease, treating patients, and providing on-call coverage 7 days a week. Other duties include maintaining patient health histories, participating in risk management, quality assurance and peer review programs, overseeing hospital and clinic personnel, assisting in marketing and planning, and assisting in billing.
Requirements: The job requires a doctoral degree in medicine, but less than a year of experience. Applicants also must pass a reference and security check.
Additional requirements needed to be a successful applicant: -- Successful completion of ACGME accredited 3-year internal medicine residency

-- Permanent, unrestricted Michigan physician's license, and Michigan controlled substance license
