Smith Paving, Inc., located in Marquette, is hiring a full-time, temporary project manager and estimator. The job includes bidding projects, researching upcoming projects to bid, preparing submittals, shop drawings, permits and permit applications, itemizing and organizing materials, surveying and laying out projects, tracking project costs, preparing change orders, and attending pre-construction meetings. The job varies according to season: from April 15 to Dec. 15, it is 45 to 55 hours weekly, sometimes including Saturdays. From Dec. 16 to April 14, it is 30 to 35 hours a week. Salary is from $35,000 to $45,000 a yearBenefits include a 5 percent 401(k) contribution match, dental and health insurance, paid holidays, company-provided vehicle, paid vacation time. It requires signing a local non-compete clause, and that the applicant be bondable.
Qualifications:
- Past project management experience
- Alternately, a degree or graduate certification in construction management, civil technology, civil engineering, or surveying.
