Your next great read (or ten great reads) await at the 2025
Friends of the Bay County Library System Book Sale, set for July 31-Aug. 2.
The annual fundraising book sale will be held at the Bay County Civic Arena, 4231 Shrestha Drive. Doors are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thurs., July 31; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fri., Aug. 1; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat., Aug. 2.
Prices change each day of the sale.
Hardcover books are $2 on Thurs., July 31 and $1 on Fri., Aug. 1. Paperbacks go from $1 each on Thurs., July 31 to 50 cents each on Fri., Aug. 1. Childrens and teens books, CDs, DVDs, records, puzzles, and sheet music are 50 cents on Thurs., July 31 and Fri., Aug. 1.
On the final day of the sale, Sat, Aug. 2, you can fill a bag or box for $4.
Proceeds from the book sale will be used by the Friends of the Bay County Library System to buy equipment, materials, and services for the public not made possible through the library system's operating budget.
Earnings from previous sales have funded children's reading programs, library publications, visits by authors, and community meeting room furniture.
The Bay County Library System includes the Alice and Jack Wirt Public Library, 500 Center Ave. in Downtown Bay City; Auburn Area Branch Library, 235 W. Midland Road in Auburn; Pinconning Branch Library, 218 Kaiser St. in Pinconning; and the Historical Sage Branch Library, 100 E. Midland St. in Bay City.
