Lett's Bridal expands into 6,000-sq ft Frandor space

In 1951, Bill and Ruby Lett opened a wedding apparel shop in Lansing to help brides make the most of their big day. Sixty years later, that tradition continues as their nephew has moved the family business to a Saginaw Road location nearly twice the size of their former shop on Grand River.

“I built it to be customer friendly to the bride,” says owner Alric Roy of the new, 6,000 square foot Lett’s Bridal and Formal. This included adding doors to the dressing room, more mirrors, private pinning room, and an open floor plan for easier shopping.

“I you think about it,” says Roy. “The dress is the wedding. When that bride walks into the store, she should feel comfortable here.”

Lett’s prides themselves on being one of the few area bridal shops that offers in-store alterations for brides - and high-quality alterations at that.

“We’re the best in the state,” Roy says. “You have to know how to work on these dresses. You wouldn’t let the guy at the Jiffy Lube tune up your Ferrari.”

Along with the move to a larger space, Roy pared down the store’s inventory to carry only the most reliable dressmakers.

Though the location and inventory has changed, Roy plans to continue the Lett’s Bridal tradition of community outreach, including the company’s support of the local Safe Prom initiative.
