Apex Accounting Service recently moved from Lansing's Westside to a larger, 8,300 square foot space in Okemos.
Apex has been in the Capital region since 1996, but moved to Okemos to be closer to its customer based.
“This gives us access to a bigger target population,” says Jim Baxter, owner of Apex Accounting Services.
Apex specializes in payroll financial statements and individual tax returns. For the last three to four years, the company’s expanded by 20 percent a year.
“We’d like to continue that growth,” Baxter says. “Our growth projections include 20 percent a year.”
The Okemos location, which Apex moved into at the end of April, is twice as big as its former Westside location.
Baxter is an Indianapolis native. He says he moved here 17 years ago and has no plans to leave.
“I’m going to stay here,” he says. “The people here are hard-working and resilient. They’re a good group of people to work with. I’m looking forward to the future."
