MBC Invests $7 Million, Expects 161 Jobs from New Kid Rock Beer

Michigan Brewing Company (MBC) is investing $7 million to develop a craft beer for Detroit musician Kid Rock.

The state recently approved a $722,957 tax credit for the project, which will help the MBC with a product addition that’s expected to create 161 new jobs.

"The scope and diversity of these projects and the new jobs they are creating in communities across the state is a testament to our competitive business climate, outstanding workforce and tremendous partnership with local governments and economic developers," says Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) President and CEO James C. Epolito about this and several other MEDC-funded projects announced last week.

The Webberville-based company is also working on having a Downtown Lansing presence. Last spring, the company announced plans to open a site on Washington Avenue.
