The Capital Area District Library (CADL) has a 3,500 square foot bargain-hunters secret in its basement. And it’s only getting bigger.
The Book Burrow gives readers access to books that range from $0.25 to $3.00 a book. It’s been rapidly expanding since it opened 33 years ago, and now Book Burrow
Manager Sally Holliday is hoping to expand again.
“This place is great because you find things that you didn’t know you wanted,” she says.
Holliday says the Book Burrow underwent a renovation several years ago, but it’s time to go at it again.
The proceeds from the Book Burrow benefit the CADL. Last year, the Book Burrow raised more than $30,000 for the CADL.
Holliday is trying to expand her Internet presence to sell some of the rare books and classics that come through the Book Burrow. She sells everything from children’s literature to non-fiction to classics.
