Grand Ledge brewing, vintner and cigar shop, the Red Salamander, is expanding to meet the demand of wine 
making and cigar enthusiasts.
Wine kits are Red Salamander Owner Karl Glarner’s fastest growing sector. He’s preparing to make a large investment that could include a physical expansion of his business to enhance his wine kit selection.
“Wine in the last 10 years has become much more approachable for people,” says Glarner.
The home brewing industry is growing too, despite an international hops shortage. Glarner says his business continues grow because interest in home brewing in Mid-Michigan is also growing. 
The third sector of Glarner’s business, which includes a recently hand constructed 75 square foot walk-in humidor, is also growing. Customers come from all over the region to peruse Glarner’s cedar lined humidor that features cigars from all over the world.
“We get as many as we can, and as exotic as we can get them,” he says.
